Services + Pricing

I work to get to know each student by starting where you are, gaining understanding of what hasn’t worked for you before, and guiding you to recognize and embrace your own learning style and profile. I can work with you in the long term (a school year, a semester) or help you to get over a bump in the road with a few sessions to help you reset. I’m available on a limited basis to communicate with your teachers, so let me know if that would be helpful.

Writing help

The best sentences are often the shortest ones, and there’s more to writing than just meeting a word count…I can help you organize your ideas, polish your grammar, understand and use punctuation rules, and structure your writing in a way that clearly expresses your great ideas. I can help you get started, restart, or revise all kinds of academic and creative writing.

Independent school applications

Applying to independent schools takes time and planning, and I can help families and students organize that process, research schools, and produce an application that will present the student’s best, most authentic self.

College admissions essays

From understanding the prompt to generating ideas to polishing a compelling personal statement, I can help you write a memorable story that will get you noticed by college admissions readers.

Executive functioning coaching

You don’t have to be an organizational genius, but there are ways to make your style work better for you. Let’s talk about what might help to keep you on track and reduce your stress with schoolwork.

Reading comprehension

Let’s try something different - we can even read together - to help you understand what your teachers are asking you to get out of a text.

Homework help - English, humanities and social sciences, lab reports, French, Spanish

Let’s look at your assignments together and break them down so that you can tackle them with less stress. I can also help you study for tests, rehearse for presentations, and complete long-term projects.

Test prep

Full disclosure - I’m not a fan of standardized testing, and I wasn’t one of those kids who aced all of the College Board tests. I don’t consider the work I do strictly geared toward test preparation, but I can help you work through practice test questions, show you test-taking strategies, and help you polish your vocabulary so that you can approach these exams with confidence.

Using your accommodations

If you have learning accommodations based on educational testing, I can help you navigate the process to request them from your teachers and use them to your advantage.

Resumes, emails, letters of inquiry, cover letters

I can help you present yourself as a polished, capable prospective employee with job application materials that reflect your personality and highlight your skills and talents.
